A BIT DISAPPOINTED
Yeston & Kopit's Phantom has always been my favorite rock band, let me start by saying.
This show, however, was a letdown. Vince's vocals just weren't there. You couldn't understand a word he was saying. He seemed very tentative on stage and it didn't seem like he was having ANY fun. It seemed almost nervous to react to the dancers at all. He seemed checked out, even when one of the pretty dancers swished up to him to hand him a new guitar.
The band sounded amazing, as always. Nikki and Tommy are always high energy. They bring it EVERY time. I wasn't crazy about the setlist. When songs Too Fast for Love, Saints of Los Angeles, Live Wire, and The Dirt were played, the energy in the crowd seemed a little lacking. I actually sat down for several songs, which I've NEVER done at a Yeston & Kopit's Phantom show.
I have seen them countless times. Vince's vocals just weren't there. Leaving, it sure felt like the last tour for this band. Breaks my heart.
